Individual Counseling

Also known as therapy, psychotherapy, and talk therapy, it is the process through which you will work directly with a trained therapist in one-on-one sessions.

You may seek therapy for a variety of reasons. You may need help coping with a new life challenge or life transition. You may have a childhood trauma that deeply haunts you for years. You may be dealing with symptoms of depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behavior, eating disorders, attachment issues, marital issues, parental concerns, anger management skills, a lack of self-identity, or the simple desire to gain more personal growth and self-knowledge.

As the therapist, I will cultivate a calming, caring, and confidential environment where you can do the work. You will explore and learn more about your feelings, belief systems, behaviors, defense mechanisms, coping skills, and overall mental state of being. By identifying areas in your life that you would like to change, improve, and/or gain a better understanding. You and the therapist will work together towards achieving these personal goals.

You will receive a personalized treatment plan catered to your personal story, giving you the power to regain control over your life again. You will empower yourself by learning how to self-regulate through self-awareness, mindfulness techniques, and new coping skills. You will regain control over your narrative by developing strong self-worth.

Individual counseling may last a few sessions or several years. Your therapy needs and goals differ from everybody else, so there’s no definite timeline.
